Appreciating the Vine and the Wine at Falkner
Falkner Winery was the venue and wine was the topic. What better place for a “wino” like me to be? I was immersed in a Wine Appreciation class that was conducted by their assistant Winemaker and sommelier George Myers. This class was extremely educational and I would highly recommend it to both expert and beginning
When Chefs Compete, We All Win
The venue was Journey at Pechanga and the aromas of exquisite cuisine wafted through the air as I followed my nose to the 4th Annual Chef Open event. Nine of our best local chefs competed for the title of “Top Chef of Southern California” benefiting the Oak Grove Center for Education, Treatment & The Arts
Scary Drinks I Love by Mambo
Usually parrots and bats don’t get along but this Halloween I’ve consulted with this flying rodent to get a well-rounded list of scary imbibements for the grown-up goblins. As you may remember from a past article, one of my favorite drinks is the Mojito. Derived from this drink is the Bayou Slime. Think of
Longshadow Ranch Winery Keeps Rockin’ with Strangelove by The Roving Wino
The vineyards were alive with the sound of music the other Friday night as Depeche Mode tribute band Strangelove knocked the socks off of the audience at Longshadow Winery. No sooner than they took the stage spectators rushed it and some jumped on it to be closer to their favorite musician. The dance area was
Therapy with The Acoustic Groove
The Roving Wino achieved a new level of entertainment when she put together the latest Wine Therapy session with The Acoustic Groove playing. The sounds of Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor and Steely Dan permeated the air as guests were sampling Spanish wines from The Wine Company and eating Paella cooked from Sandra Serebreni from A
Roadwork – Paving the Road to Success
Photo courtesy of Roadwork The Southland has been taken by storm and flooded with driving rock ‘n’ roll music from the band Roadwork. This relatively new cover band is making quite a name for itself in the mere year and a half that they have been together. These local boys are starting to receive the recognition
TOT Lunch Meet and Greet at Texas Lils
This week’s ToT Meet and Greet was in Old Town Temecula’s Texas Lil’s. What a great place to mix and mingle in this western-styled saloon/restaurant. I was unaware that the owners Ron and Becky Walton owned the two year old Vail Ranch Steakhouse and also Texas Loosey’s, both in Temecula. The Taste of Temecula’s patrons
Menifee hosts Music for a Good Cause
The mild metropolis of Menifee came alive on Sunday when the Menifee Woman’s Club hosted a star studded lineup at Webb Hall in what the old timers still consider “Sun City”. Robbie Motter and her team of volunteers orchestrated theevent that benefitted the less fortunate citizens of the community. The $6.00 donation plus one non-perishable
