New Year, New You, New Wine!

A few weeks into the New Year…how’s everyone doing on their New Years’ resolutions?  If you’re like most people, one of the things you resolved to do in 2012 is eat healthier:  more salads, more fresh fruit, and more lean meat. This doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice enjoyment, especially when it comes to wine!

Wiens Cellars has the perfect white wine to accompany your lighter fare – Dulce Maria.  Named after the family matriarch Mary Wiens, this pleasantly sweet wine is composed of chardonnay and muscat grapes from our own Temecula Valley.  With notes of tropical fruit like melon and pineapple, imagine paring this with your grilled shrimp, skinless chicken breast, or green salad (with the dressing on the side, right?) You might even forget that you’re trying to eat right!

Lalaine C. Castillo About Lalaine C. Castillo

My life’s mission is to make it an adventure: swimming with dolphins in the Caribbean, ziplining through the Costa Rican rain forests, and sampling exotic delicacies at open air night markets in Thailand are just a few things that I’ve crossed off my Bucket List. Surprisingly however, some of the BEST experiences I’ve had in my life were found in my own backyard in the Temecula/Murrieta area. Therefore, I hope to share these with the Taste of Temecula community. I am equally passionate about creative writing. With my MBA degree in tow, I’ve worked in the Marketing Communications & Public Relations profession for nearly a decade within startups and Fortune 500 companies alike. Here I’ve honed my writing skills, and I’m fortunate to now be able to use them within this forum. Cheers to many more adventures!
