Meet our family of local merchants that welcome you to Temecula Valley. The Merchants participating on our tour are owned by amazing locals that make Old Town as unique as the history it reflects. Join us as we eat and drink our way through Historic Old Town and here are some of the places you may visit the “Tastiest Tour In Town”
Old Town treasure and a favorite among locals and with great reason. Hosting over 19 varietals Lorimar Winery and staff not only love to pour wine but they pour their heart out to educate you, helping you get more from a pour. They have been a tour favorite as many have not only enjoyed fine wine but have experienced chef spotlights as we have paired up their fabulous wines with a variety of local chefs. We have had many fabulous dishes ranging from our lobster and wine pairing to the most recent compliments of Lienzo Charro. Come take the tour that gives you more and come meet our friends at Lorimar Winery.
Villa di Calabro Winery & Olive Oil Co.
Starting the beginning of a great tour this afternoon we meet in the shaded garden patio setting of Villa Di Calabro Winery & Olive Oil Company. Everyone gets settled in and ready for a tasting which includes amazing olive oils handcrafted by Mike and Mindy Calabro with many of their signature flavors such as Jalapeno, Citrus, Strawberry, Onion and they also pair them with exquisite balsamic vinegars and premium wines.
Lienzo Charro Mexican Bar & Grill
Fresh, Homemade & Tasty! Introducing Temecula Valley’s best kept secret that features a complete menu of tasty homemade authentic Mexican cuisine. Located at the beginning of Old Town Temecula near 79 South, Lienzo Charro has a large dining area inside and out, plenty of parking and is a short hop into Old Town.
Almost anyone can make pancakes but it takes a few tries to get the beloved crepe made to a perfect dish. Crepes fell by the wayside when creamy fillings became passé. They have always been popular in France, particularly in Brittan where there are countless creperies (crepe restaurants). Chef John at Cafe Daniels is a baking artist and the desserts are nothing short of a masterpeice. Visit them only if you want a place that will be your new favorite place for great food and fine coffees. Be sure to say hi to Chef John!
Those of us craving Spanish flavors may start daydreaming of travel to satisfy our longings, but Viva Vino Spanish Tapas & Wine Bar now saves us the trip by bringing authentic Spanish Tapas to Temecula!
The Spice Merchant
A highlight of our tour as we enjoy a variety of special teas and we can not get to all 65 varieties or the 300 spices they carry in stock so we will just have to leave it up to Sue to choose her favorites. This store is an like an aphrodisiac as you will feel much like a kid walking into a candy store. They have been a tour favorite and a stop not to be missed and we don’t! Thanks Sue & Anthony for giving Temecula such a great place to visit.
Old Town Root Beer Company
Cori poured us the traditional Old Town Route 66 Root Beer, a spicy, fizzing sweet drink with heady flavors of honey on the nose, and lingering vanilla-cinnamon after taste–along with sarsaparilla root zing. It’s that root for which the drink is named. While my tour goers perused their countless shelves of more than 300 sodas–including their beloved Orange Crush, Grapette and Dr. Pepper that sparked so many memories. Grab a sixer and take your favorite home to drink or as a keepsake. Cori makes a tasty Root beer float – try one!
Old Town Sweet Shop
The Sweet Shop carries all the great nostalgic candy you will remember from childhood; in fact the most popular phrase you will hear from our happy customers is “remember these”. Hosting the largest supply of retro-candy in the Inland Empire you won’t find another shop like this anywhere in Riverside County and its a must stop as we sample their home made fudge. Our tour would be the same without them.
