If you love Sushi you will relate to this. Since moving to Temecula Valley one of my primary concerns was figuring out where I would find a great place for Sushi. If you are an avid fan of the tasty cuisine like I am, you know it creates a craving where the only thing to satisfy it is a spicy tuna hand roll followed by a number 2, 14, 16 & 28 extra spicy. Of course, I knew that Temecula Valley makes great wine for all you wine lovers but I wondered if they could satisfy us aquatics?
I wondered if it was possible that great Sushi can come out of a valley? I tried several different places and thought that they all had their strong points. I couldn’t decide on a favorite but then I had a great idea. Rather than go in search of Sushi, why not learn how to make my own?
So I connected with Charles McKee, who has been making sushi for almost as long as I have been alive! He was the founder of Misato Japanese Restaurant which was voted “Best In the Inland Empire,” appeared on TBS’s “Man in the Kitchen” and was the premiere Chef of both Orange & L.A. County Fairs. He also was the chef at TOT’s 2010 Christmas Party giving us a crash course in making some great hand rolls and everyone had a blast. His Poki is so amazing it should probably come with a disclaimer, “caution may be habit forming.”
Due to our great experience, we convinced Charles to bring his Sushi making classes to everyone Sushi Bar is NOW OPEN! It is time to enjoy the rewards of a job well done as the Sushi ‘n Sake After Party commences! This class is fun, fresh and ends in a complete culinary bliss.
Some of the dishes you will be making are Tuna, Whitefish, Shrimp Nigiri, Shrimp Hand Rolls, California Rolls, Sushi Rice, Crab and other mixes plus great sauces like Ginger Dressing, Ponzu Sauce, Sushi Hot Sauce & Sesame Miso. He will also teach planning, prep, special ingredients, tips & tricks, dipping sauces, how to plan for family night or how to host a sushi n sake party of your own.
