Jim and Jeannie Miley are honored that their work was chosen to be displayed at the Gallery at the Merc in Old Town Temecula. The show opens April 15th and will run through May 18th, 2011. This is the second year they have shown their work at The Gallery at the Merc, which hosts eight exhibits throughout the year.
The City of Temecula Community Service Department and the Arts Council of Temecula Valley invites the public to view Jim and Jeannie Miley’s photographic perceptions of the Temecula Valley. The free opening reception will be at The Merc on Friday, April 15th from 5:30 till 7:00 p.m.
The Miley’s have resided in Temecula for over 20 years. They have been very involved with the community over the years such as United Way of the Inland Valleys, the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Riverside County, Rotary Club of Murrieta and Kiwanis Club of Temecula/Murrieta, Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, Murrieta Chamber of Commerce as well as the Temecula Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Jim has been a professional photographer for over twenty five years and is currently pursuing the creative side of photography with his partner and wife, Jeannie. The Miley’s recently retired from their successful commercial and wedding photography business, J. Francis Miley Photography.
Jeannie fell in love with photography and started photographing when her parents gave her a Kodak Instamatic for Christmas when she was 12. It was Jeannie who handed over her 35mm camera to her husband when he attended classes at UCR. Jim picked up the camera for a class project and has never stopped photographing.
The Miley’s photography is a blend of digital enhancement of images and a traditional photographic composition. A combination of different print processes and types of paper further stylize their images; making their work different from the normal photographic process. Jim and Jeannie’s photography captures the majestic beauty of landscapes and the hidden beauty of everyday items. Their work is intentionally designed to evoke a feeling of serenity and well-being.
Their work is currently being shown at the The Brandon Gallery in Fallbrook and up north in the central coast at the Seaside Gallery in Pismo Beach. You can view their on line gallery at jfmileyphotography.com.
A sample of their photographic art will be on display at The Gallery at the Merc in Old Town Temecula and at the Temecula Public Library from April 15th – May 22nd, 2011.
